Christmas Mini Book swap

Ooopps!! it's been awhile since I have blogged yet again. I'm in another swap over on UKS, it's a mini book swap for Christmas, I have made 13 tag size pages with a Christmas theme and I'll get 12 different ones back including one of my own.

August Trendy Tags

This months theme was canvas and I really enjoyed it, I made my tags into sort of art journal type tag, well that is the way I describe it lol! I cut pieces of canvas and backed them onto a tag, to stiffen them up. I made 3 different ones using my new Stampotique stamps but all had the same theme 'be yourself' The first one I used acrylic paint for the background, the second one I used Dylusions Ink sprays and the third was a mixture of ink and paint.

I do hope my swappees like them, I really didn't want to give them away, I'm going to have to make some more for myself.

Catch Up

Oopps ment to come on here a few weeks ago and post my latest KISS art CJ page, so here it is better late than never, it was a page for Fatmonica and the theme was Journal your Journey, quotes about travel, I really likes this one I found when searching in the internet, hope you all like it too :) I used my Dylusions ink sprays, stamps and mask, I'm really loving all the Dylusions range, just need to wait till next pay day and I can get some more

Ashes art CJ

Yet another art journal CJ post, this time for the 'from the Ashes' CJ over on UKS. This months pages were in a moleskin book for wickedangel, the theme is today I am feeling....... I started out I was relaxed but by the time I had finished inking up the background it was a total MESS, so I put picket fence distress ink over it all and reinked it all over again, my feelings had changed so I went with frustrated, I stamped some of my new Dylusions Stamps added my journaling and a Iittle colour, think it turned out ok in the end.

Grimm ATCs

Over on UKS I have joined in the Grimm fairy tales ATC swap, I'm in 2 groups, so I have made 20 ATCs 10 for each group, I choose the stories, The Elves and the Shoemaker and one I hadn't heard of before The Spirit in the Bottle. These are being posted off to Rebecca who is making them into little books before sending home.

For the Elves and shoemaker, I printed out a picture and coloured it in with my promarkers, I think I need a little more practice to get my shading right! I sewed on a little piece of leather style fabric, punched holes and put in some eyelets added ribbon and a little shoe charm :)

For the spirit in the Bottle, I printed out the words of the story as a background, added an image, a piece of the magic cloth and a little silver axe.

Look forward to getting these back and seeing what everyone else has done :)

KISS art journal CJ

another month and another KISS art journal page, this month it is Lou's journal and her theme is Love, Life and Happiness, where I had to create a page with a quote or poem relating to love, life or happiness. My quote is about life, I painted the background, did a little bit of stenciling, doodling and stamping, image transferred the woman onto the page, a new technique for me which I loved doing and very impressed as to how it turned out, I'll be doing this one again :) then I just wrote on the quote, all wrapped up and ready for the post :)

July Trendy Tags

Another month and another set of trendy tags, this time the theme was steampunk. I did the Tim Holtz Creativity 101 class a few months back and the technique I have used on these tags was one of the classes. First I used distress inks for the background, added some stamped images and then smeared distress stickles rock candy all over to give a little bit of bling.

Collage pieces

On the secret swappers we are doing a collage piece a la Tim Holtz like this

everyone was given a different colour and theme, my colour was sunflower and theme time, we all made 11 pieces of 4 different sizes each, I had fun playing around with this. I have started doing more altered stuff thanks to the secret swappers group. I think my pieces look good :) can't wait to get them all back and put together.

More Alice ATC's

I have joined in another Alice ATC swap over on UKS, this http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giftime hosted by Sarah, I make 6 ATC's and get 6 back. I choose the caterpillar an Octopode digital stamp, first time using a digital stamp, I found it really easy to do, great thing is you can print out the image to any size you want :)

Art journal pages

I'm in an art journal CJ over on UKS called From the Ashes hosted by Karen, I have completed 2 pages for her journal, topic anything goes :) I tried out 2 different styles for her book, one with inks and the other paints, I really liked getting messy for both of them but I think I preferred the inky one, which I gave the distressed look. Which one do you like?

June Trendy Tags

Another monthly tag swap over on UKS this time hosted by Rosie, the trend this month was bunting or flags. I love this little Stampotique stamp. The bunting made me think of a party theme:) I was pleased at how they turned out, hope whoever gets them likes them too.

Tinchy

Over on UKS I joined a tinchy swap, where we had to decorate a little mint tin with our swappees theme. My swappee Jayne wanted a fantasy theme, mystical beings and such like, so this is what I did and I hope she likes it :) I painted the top and bottom, alcohol inked the edges and added some little stars, added an image of a white unicorn on the front. I made a little book to go inside with some images and facts about some mystical creatures.

Trendy Tag swap

I've joined in the May Trendy Tag Swap over on UKS, I had such great fun last time, this months theme was hexagons, these are my tags. I stamped onto tissue paper, stuck it on giving it the crumpled look, added the hexagon paper, distessed the tags and inked the edges, this was my first time making ribbon rosettes, I used a button for the centre and added a quote.

Art journal CJ page

Over on UKS I'm in an art journal circle journal called KISS (Keep It So Simple) I have finished my page for Rosiemac's journal with the title 'words to live by' I choose the words from one of Tim Holtz stamp collections Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain. I love this saying because I firmly believe that life is what you make it. I used some of Tim Hotlz distress inks to create the page and I had lots of fun doing it :) now it is all wrapped up and ready for posting.

Alice ATC's

I have been making 'White Rabbit' ATC's for a secret swap on the Alice in Wonderland theme, at the minute my atc's are winging their way to France to Rebecca, who is going to put all the atc's into a little book, I'm sure they will all look wonderful and can't wait to see them all home. The stamp I have used is my new found love Octopode, all the stamps are gorgeous, just going to have to wait till next pay day so I can get myself some more. This is a close up, I got a little white rabbit charm and couldn't fit it on the front, so I have put it on the back with my details, that is what the red ribbon sticking up from the backis.

Match box

Another swap over on UKS, a matchbox shrine swap, I am sending to Frances  and the theme is Carnival masks, the little charm hanging inside can be removed and worn. I managed to burn my finger using my bejeweler putting on the little gems, those things can get very hot!! but I think the end effect is good  :)

Over on UKS I have joined a matchbox shrine swap I thought I would have a little practise first, so here is my little matchbox, I loved reading the book Guess how much I love you to the kids when they were small, so that was my theme I went with, there are some really lovely images of matchboxes on google. Looking forward to getting my swappee details and making the real one now.

Little book of secrets

Over on UKS I joined a little book of secrets swap, a book made with matchboxes and lots of exciting secrets hidden in the drawers. My swapee was Karen, who happened to mention that she didn't like pink fluffy bunnies, peel offs and Paul McCartney, so I was rather naughty and made a fake cover for her book lol!

 

 

Karens theme was art journalling and I was rather nervous about doing art for someone else but I was pleased at how it turned out, I enjoyed getting messy and playing with paints, although my favourite was working with the distress inks.
